Genre Specific Video Deconstructions

Here is a lise of videos specific to the genre we where looking at:

Summary:

From the Videos specific to our genre it was important to build on the knowledge and conventions gained in previous videos and apply it to our own video. We took note of a lot of the different features of music videos from our chosen genre. Again we saw conventions pop up from previous videos such as intertexual references and editing styles either being continuity or dis-continuity. We also see the use of things such as viral marketing strategies and the use of digital technology to help spread the video along with easily replicable dance moves. Things like references to the artist or track inside the narrative of the video with the names written on the wall or a drink can etc. In this genre we could see the use of dance moves and action sequences are very common. These help appeal to the chosen audience of the video and something we needed to take into account.
