DIGIPAK Eg.4: Daft Punk - Human After All

There is a clear theme running throughout this digipak design which is in keeping with the genre of music. The futuristic computer style to this digipak works well for the house genre of music and will appeal to that target audience. The font on the front is in keeping with the colour scheme which is nice as the purple and the yellow contrast to make the artwork stand out. The front cover is simple and in keeping with convention as it includes the name of the artist 'Daft Punk' and the album title.

The spine of the album is again simple with daft punk down the side and the virgin records label included. On the back cover you see the name of each individual track as well as the track length. You always see the track listing however the track lengths are not always included on the back of digipaks. You can see the bar code on the back with a nice design leading of it. There is also copyright information in small as the bottom of the back cover as well as the virgin records logo and EMI logo.

The inside cover to this digpak has information about the producer of the tracks and different people who contributed to the songs. There are the names of some of the more singles in this album in boxes dotted around the inside of the digipak which works nicely.
Some of the lyrics to the songs are also featured on the back of the digipak which is in keeping with the conventions I have seen. The design on the CD itself is very simple. The bright bold yellow makes it stand out with the words daft punk simply written on as well as two logos. Overall I think the digipak works well and follows many of the conventions we have seen so far, it is also in keeping with the house genre and should appeal to that target audience.

Shooting Schedule #3

Now that we have extended our idea to include a new character the traveller, we are going to get some initial footage and experiment with costumes. The idea is to make the traveller look wacky and enigmatic and we hope to achieve this look in the footage. This is also important as we can get feedback on the outfit and make improvements for the next shoot.
Footage we hope to get:

  • Traveller leaving house
  • Footage with costume
  • Party sequence footage with DJ decks
Location - Tom's House
Equipment - HD Camera, Fig-rig, Tripod
Group member - Tom

This digipak for Stereo feature a close up image again in black and white of the artist looking into the camera. The name of the song and the artist are written centrally at the top of the cover in a worn down font. In the bottom right of the cover it says its written in realistic stereo sound. On the spine of the pack there is the artist and album names again as well as the record labels ad logos. CD number again is noted at the bottom of the spine.

On the inside of the pack there are a few words from the artists and the song names with lengths of each song. Copyright information is also featured at the bottom of the inside of the cover. It also gives the names of the other band members and a link to the website. On the other side there is a picture about the documentary included in the pack which also acts as a sleeve for this video. This CD also include information on the record labels and copyright. The CD itself has the name of the artist written on it and copyright information written all the way around the outside of the CD.

On the inside on the right there is details about the artist and the album making. The design throughout the pack is constant slightly western theme. There is more copyright info as well as things about the designer and management. On the back there is the song list placed to the right again with the caption 'Recorded In Realistic Stereo'. There is a bar code at the bottom centre and more writing about copyright and record label in small font including an email address and website.
